In February, we took our regional roadshow event to Manchester taking place at the University of Manchester’s Core Technology Facility.
The day entailed back-to-back pitches from early-stage climate tech startups. The quality waa excellent and gives the Clean Growth Fund investment team time with founders on their own ground, hearing the problem they’re trying to solve, what they’ve built and why they’re the ones to solve it.

In the evening, more than 100 people joined us for a networking reception. The local climate tech community came together over a drink and to connect with the wider climate tech community, from investors and start-ups – to academia, accelerators, local authorities and more.
Manchester was our seventh roadshow across the UK. Climate tech isn’t concentrated in one city, so we go to the founders rather than wait for them to come to us. We want to meet climate tech pioneers where they’re building.

Thank you to the University of Manchester for hosting us, and to everyone who pitched, came along and talked to us.
