Investing for net zero? Direct investment into new clean technologies is imperative to get us there

Paris Alignment Forum Online Morning Coffee
Tuesday 12 October 2021 10:30am – 11:30am

Hosted by Clean Growth Fund and Pensions for Purpose

Event Description

Pensions for Purpose and Clean Growth Fund are hosting a Paris Alignment Forum Morning Coffee to discuss how direct investing in clean technologies is essential on the journey to net zero.

It is not enough to encourage companies in existing listed portfolios to reduce their emissions. The reality is, we won’t get to net zero unless investors also put money into creating and scaling up new technologies and solutions in order to provide, develop and commercialise the technology required to reach net zero. Investors need to urgently look at more than listed equities.

Beverly Gower-Jones from the Clean Growth Fund will lead a discussion making the above arguments.  She will draw upon some of the science that supports this and set out key sectors where investors could consider deploying capital to help achieve net zero.

As usual, there will be ample time for questions and answers, and we anticipate the usual lively discussion around the virtual table.  Clean Growth Fund have kindly offered to plant a tree on behalf of each attendee at this morning coffee event. You will have the opportunity to accept or decline this when you register.
